With the growing relationship between China and many African countries, China has made education a key pillar of its engagement with the continent.
Here are some full and partial scholarship opportunities that can be leveraged to gain access and exposure to some top universities in China:
Zhengzhou University President Scholarships
To enhance international exchange, the scholarship aims to provide funding for full-time Masters and PhD programs. All applications must be submitted to the relevant university before the end of June every year.
Chinese Government Scholarship- Chinese University Program
To promote mutual understanding, cooperation and collaboration in various fields, the Chinese government has set up the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) scheme to sponsor international students to study and conduct research in Chinese universities. The CSC provides full sponsorship for international students to study at any of these 243 schools listed for Bachelor, Master or doctoral (PhD) degree courses in various disciplines. All applications must be submitted to the relevant university before the end of March every year.
Shanghai Government Scholarships
The Shanghai Government Scholarship (SGS) is part of the social responsibilities of the government to fund the study of international students for Undergraduate, Masters, and PhD education. All applications must be submitted to the relevant university before the end of March every year.
Beijing Government Scholarships
The Beijing Government Scholarship was established to provide funding to international students studying or applying to study in Beijing. All applications must be submitted to the relevant university before the end of February every year.
UNESCO/People’s Republic of China Co-Sponsored Fellowship
The Chinese government in partnership with UNESCO offers 75 undergraduate and postgraduate fellowships annually. This fellowship is designed for scholars who plan to undertake individual research with an assigned supervisor for the duration of one year. All applications must be submitted to the relevant university before the end of February every year.
